Paleo Vs Keto

Paleo? Keto? If you have googled for weight loss, you would have definitely come across these terms. Which one works better and what are the benefits? Let’s take a look.

PALEO

It is also known as the ‘Caveman Diet’. It focuses on eating whole foods and avoids processed foods. It is a protein diet and removes refined carbohydrates and dairy products. The idea is to reduce the salt and sugar intake to improve the overall health. Paleo diet is said to be good for gut health and weight loss.

KETO

This diet was initially created to help people with epilepsy. Now it is used for rapid weight loss and fat burning ability. This diet puts your body in a state of ketosis and uses up the fats stored in the body. Keto diet restricts carbohydrates which can cause a great deal of excess water storage in the body.

PALEO KETO
Paleo is low carb and high protein but not necessarily high fat. Keto is high fat and low carb diet.
Dairy foods are restricted. Dairy foods are not restricted.
Focus it to lose weight and improve gut health. Focus is to burn fat from the body.
Starchy fruits and vegetables to be avoided. Low carb so lot of fruits and vegetables cannot be consumed.

Which works better? Paleo or Keto?

Keto restricts a lot of foods which can be a tad bit difficult to follow and at the same time going into a state of ketosis can be harmful too. It can show drastic loss in weight. Paleo has fewer restrictions comparatively and will show a gradual weight loss. It is also good for the gut health. It is not possible to say which is better out of the two. Try and see which works best for you and stick to that!
